I feel like if they had a way to get singles, actually implemented all/most of the cards in each set, and had more people/money on the team to keep it updated and bug-free, it could have thrived a lot more than it did. With the severe bugs, restricted update schedule, and cards that the team straight up couldn't implement, it was obvious that Duels didn't have enough resources to support it properly. Really feels like a missed opportunity overall.
It was cool having people who brewed up interesting stuff instead of "hey somebody else made this exact decklist and now I'll play it for you against all the other standard/modern netdecks you've seen before". I dropped the game since it was pretty impossible to keep your collection up to date once you fell behind (the lack of a way to get singles of specific cards really hurt the game for anyone who wasn't there since the beginning), but I watched plenty of content from the youtubers that still played the game.
